Getting to know more and more about BSA (Buysellads) have started becoming my hobby. It’s fun to know how advertisers think. There are different levels of stages that we all bloggers go through.
First, we work hard to get the mere account approvals. Then we strive to find the best ad banner places/spots that would generate maximum impressions. Then we sit back and hope for the advertisers to find our blogs.
It’s interesting. So today, I would like to highlight a couple of high impressions generating ad places of your blog that would surely sell at a high rate. Advertisers look for ad spots that tend to attract visitors.
So for that purpose, we need to think of as advertisers our self. Think where you would like to place your ad banners so that maximum eyeballs could hit you back.
Table of Contents
- #1 Header (720×90, 480×60)
- #2 Above Post Title (720×90, 480×60)
- #3 Top Sidebar (125X125 , 250×250, 200×125)
- #4 Sidebar Middle (300×250 , 250×250)
- #5 Below Post Title (300×250 , 720×90, 250×250)
- #6 Below Post Body (300×250, 720×90, 468×60)

- #8 Above/Before Comments (720×90)
#1 Header (720×90, 480×60)
Ads that are displayed right beside the blog logo are also known as premium ad spots and get the maximum page impressions and labeled as top performing CPM zones (ads that are at above the fold view).
These spots are sold for the highest rate usually. The best dimensions of ads to display here are 720X90 px or 480X60px.
#2 Above Post Title (720×90, 480×60)
Like wise, this particular area, that is above post title is pretty effective for the adverstisers too so the tend to be quite interested in it. As this particular region (above first post title) is above the fold (that is before the first scrolling is done), so it gets maximum impressions too.
Notice how our fellow blogger, Muhammad of Mybloggertricks shows up BSA (Buysellads) ads above his post title.
#3 Top Sidebar (125X125 , 250×250, 200×125)
Sidebar is indeed one of the best places to display your BSA ads. While sidebar ads sell pretty fast, there is another aspect to the sidebar ads that tend to decrease the CTR. As more and more people are placing their ads on sidebars, visitors are getting immune to the ads and are less likely to click the ads. So it depends.
But adding your BSA ads specially 125×125 works great!
#4 Sidebar Middle (300×250 , 250×250)
Placing the large boxes ads (300×250) plays wonders in the middle sidebar area. This is the place where the readers are half way reading the article and tend to get attracted by the sidebar large ads. Take a look in the picture below how BSA ads are displayed on our beloved blog MBT.
#5 Below Post Title (300×250 , 720×90, 250×250)
Below post title is another great spot to give your advertisers are chance to show up. You could either use the large rectangle ad (300×250) or leader board style ad (720×90).
#6 Below Post Body (300×250, 720×90, 468×60)
Below post body is one of the highest impression generating spots too. This is the place where we talk about ‘call for action’. Placing an ad spot here would mean to give a call to check out the ad. It works great!
#7 Besides Related Post Widget (300×250, 250×250)
These ad spots play wonders in terms of click-through. People tend to read out related posts and thus may check out the ad being displayed right next to it.
#8 Above/Before Comments (720×90)
Showing up ad spots before comment box is another great idea. On blogs/websites were commenting is on the rise, these ads spots are sold for high bugs.
So yeah that’s all! I hope you get BSA approval as soon as possible if you haven’t already, and place your ads on these places discussed.
