The Brain Thermal Tunnel began as an anatomical observation, not a device concept. Understanding how it developed clarifies what the technology is and, equally important, what it is not.
The Origin of the Brain Thermal Tunnel
The problem Dr. Abreu set out to address is straightforward to state and difficult to solve. Brain temperature is clinically meaningful, but the brain is enclosed in bone and insulated from the surface. Measurements taken at conventional sites—mouth, ear, rectum, skin—are influenced by ambient conditions, local blood flow, and the measurement method itself. His research focused on whether any site on the body’s surface maintains a thermal connection to the brain that is protected from those influences.

The Science Behind the Mechanism
The answer he proposed involves the orbit. Orbital fat has low thermal conductivity, which makes it an insulator. Arranged around a vessel, it forms what Dr. Abreu described as an insulated pathway: a route along which a thermal signal can travel toward the surface without being degraded by the surrounding environment.
This is the mechanism behind the Brain-Eyelid Thermal Regulatory Tunnel. The proposition is that a measurement taken at this specific site carries information that a measurement taken elsewhere does not.
